This plenary session will examine the challenges and recommendations for organization development practitioners who are leading the DE&I efforts in a highly charged social justice era.
Through the lens of system and intrapersonal change, we will discuss the inherent tension and conflicts that organization development practitioners must grapple with to be effective and successful at this moment in history. We will discuss whether you must give up a part of yourself to align with corporate culture and norms? Or is there a place to hold your individuality, especially if you’re a person of color? And, what happens when you hit the invisible wall of culture and racism?
Participants will learn how:
- Healthy self -identity plays a large role in dismantling inequitable systems
- DE&I system change is integral to all aspects of an organization.
- As an OD professional, we have a responsibility to incorporate equity into all aspects of our work regardless of the type of change we are leading
